Not the correct carb. That does not have the bell on the intake side.
Buying a used FCR is tricky. You could exceed the cost of a new carb just in parts for it should it need to be rebuilt.
You also have no idea about jetting so that will also be an expense. Cheaper to buy the TT kit.

    It's got a removable airbell...

Provided that the carb you receive is in good condition, you'll need a Sudco #021-216A adapter and proper jetting. The adapter costs about $45 on aftermarket and you can expect to pay $25-40 for jetting. Add a little bit for your time, and it'd cost about $100 to prep that carb.

I'm thinkin' don't even bother w/ the fcr. Did a quick run again on the way home, against "crobi's" fcr'd bike. We are both running ssw/mrd pipes(corked) at the moment. I still have the stock bsr carb. It wasn't a clear runaway, imo. I keep going back as to why Gramma kept pulling away from me once we got on the straights, the time we did track day. I just realized that she was running 15/38 & I was running the stock 15/41. Atleast that's what I think anyway.

It is the right carb but... do your self a favor and don't buy it from this seller .
He buys fcr from eBay for real cheap ($50-$100) and sales them again for double price... trust me

You'll also need the E model fr. intake boot. The hot start shaft appears bent on this carb, and the T.P.S. is just going to be in the way. If one happens to have an E or K model then you would also desire the superior flowing S/SM rear air box boot. Depending on its age or hours of use, I would throw a fresh float valve assembly at it as well. By the looks of the vent/over flow lines, they look like they may be hard as a rock and could warrant replacement also. You'll also need the vacuum port nipple to operate your stock fuel valve as well as the larger fr. boot clamp. Then just hope like hell someone hasn't tried to disassemble the 2 upper main body half's as there not meant to ever be taken apart and the o-ring between the 2 are not available. While your hoping, the vacuum pressure release plate and its diaphragm sometimes need replaced as well. If all went well then confirm float height is still a 9mm after float valve replacement. But yes, it could be used............

Are you saying that I just spent 1/2 k on TT kit FCR 39mm carb and it won't matter?

Well I can beat Deb in a race . I have stock carb with a jd kit in it with a standard mrd exhaust. Deb has hot cams, fcr, mrd ssw.The only time it realy shows is up top lets say 70mph on up.I see some people say the fcr is 1,000 times better then stock, but a correctly jetted stock carb makes a big difference also.

Wow, thats an interesting perspective…kinda would have gone with just the JD jet kit with ssw/mrd…right now my parts are on order…
I heard em all say the FCR compared to stock is day and night difference…hummm….I could spend that $550 on a lot of other things!

No the carb is worth it......it is snappier and pulls even in the higher rpms. To me the FCR isn't a huge gain. I still need to get my carb dialed in and we will see where it stands after.

Lynk is doing some testing with different set ups on his FCR and it really seems to be working better with his combo's. I will say his settings or set ups are no where near what Eddie S is stating

Another funny thing is to many people read something and just do what someone tells them to do. They wast a lot of money on stuff that could be used on regular maintenance. It is amazing on how much better your bike will ride if you maintain it. Most people do not maintain there bike even close to how they should. There are so many little things that need attention on your bike that get over looked.

The FCR is worth about 3hp on top. But that isn't what this is about.
    Dyno's don't measure throttle response...
The stock carb dosen't have a accel pump.
The ridability and throttle response is better on an FCR. I know, jetted stock carbs are pretty good. Wait till the emulsion tube gets worn though and THEN tell me how much you like your stock carb...

Yeah, I don't know why everyone is following Eddie S from TT....guy dreams about DRZees, so I would have expected him to come up with the correct mix! Uhhhh!
Was very nice to get the knowledgeable feedback from Lynk, and someone who is testing for the good of us all! Thank you!!
