Default Riding apparel geared towards dual sport?

It seems most gear is either for strictly on-road or strictly off-road riding. As we all know, gear for on-road riding isn't very good for off-road riding and vice versa. This kinda sucks for DS and SM riders.

I have seen "50/50" boots, but that's pretty much where it ends for DS and SM style gear. Does anyone know of any manufactures making 50/50 style gear for us in addition to boots? Or have you guys and gals found certain gear that adapts well for DS and SM riding?

I have found that TLD (troyleedesigns) works great for both......I believe there are some more dualsport oriented gear out there through Klime but very expensive...but worth it...

there are these pants by Shift for about $250.00

But also for protection .....Alpinestars and 661 have really good pressure suit to wear under your jersy and really work well when you go down...also good knee guards or knee braces will be good as well....and they work great for both as well

    Just my opinions on these

Look towards Enduro style jacket and boots that will be the best compramise
Dri Rider have a good selection here in OZ
You only need two tools to fix things.
If it supposed to move and doesn't WD40
If it moves and shouldn't Duct Tape

How do MX style boots work out on the street? I like the idea of the protection then provide over a 50/50 style boot, but wonder how they are for longer street rides.

Good to hear MX boots work OK on the street. No issues with comfort?

I think for urban warfare and shorty MX boot is probably the best bet. I found a company out of Auburn I believe that imports Falco boots from italy. They have a pretty sweet Sumo boot. The rep told me they will custom make boots. I am hoping I can get them to put the sm soles on their shorty mx boot. For pants I have just been wearing my Dianese under armour and my first gear waterproof winter pants. Leather jacket with full armour and my AFX enduro helmet

You doods and doodettes that are wearing Fox and TLD pants, are they motocross pants? Any armor? Any protection in a fall? Thinking street, not dirt?

I wear Dianese under armor, under what ever pants I am wearing, unless I have on my leathers.

The problem is gear that works on the street sucks off road and vice versa. On the street the best gear is thick leather. Off road it blows. And dirt gear on the street just won't protect like leather. That said, commuting I wear leather, and since I don't really ride the road for fun (other than to get me to the trails) I wear dirt gear just about everywhere else.
