The first time I rode with it it was weird but now no issues... I don't wear the back protector when I wear my back pack

Check this stuff out. I love the jacket I have. Removable body armor, venting, removable liner, etc.etc. Plus it's made in the USA. http://www.olympiamotosports.com/

Klim makes very nice pants and Rev'it makes some great jackets.

i def need some gear also but everyone of those links are blocked at work so i'll check when i get home... you may cringe, but right now i ride in t-shirt and shorts or jeans and shoes. i havent rode in about 2-1/2 yrs since i pulled an 85 MPH t-bone on a 2005 750 GSXR into a Acura that pulled out in front of me. so right now i have no gear!

I ride with an Acerbis Koerta, MSR knee/shin guards, HJC helmet and A'stars Scout boot. I do need to get some armored riding shorts.
Who cares what I look like on the street, I feel somewhat protected. Besides I might take the long way home...

I cringe at the thought of that crash, not your current lack of gear!

These folks make some nice stuff. They are located in the Carolinas. I have one of their jackets with removable armor. It also has a removable liner for cold weather. I haven't tried any of their pants (I'm a HUGE Klim fan for pants and jerseys).

They are pretty proud of their stuff if you know what I mean. They sell the jacket I have for somewhere around $300. I found one, new with the tags still on it, on Ebay for about $100 shipped. Damn good deal IMHO.

yeah not much gear woulda stop the pain from that one, although my rash would been far less had i had the gear on. helmet was most important on that one. oh yeah and boy did i wish i had been wearing gloves. lol
the pavement melted my shoe laces and then they flew off so boots woulda been a good choice also.
